Apple 2e (1983 model) for High Speed Trading. What is the fastest computer linked up to a human brain, keyboard latency. Apple 2e 1983 = 30 ms, modern crap computers > 100ms

tests of the latency between a keypress

"On the input, if we look at modern keyboards, it’s common to see them scan their inputs at 100 Hz to 200 Hz (e.g., the ergodox claims to scan at 167 Hz). By comparison, the apple 2e effectively scans at 556 Hz"

No surprise millennium generation need to do computerized trading, they are too slow on the trigger?

There's also a lot less bloatware in the Apple 2e between the keyboard and the screen.

Ergodox might scan at 167 Hz but then it needs to create a data packet, send it via USB, let all the layers of the OS do stuff, talk to the graphics card, etc..

I wrote my first enterpise manpower control system on Apple II with 128 KB, Pascal, Turtlegraphics and slow matrix printer in 1981. It was used for 19 years in various incarnations.
10 year later .. same kind of problem in a large VAX/VMS environment. Analogous s/w systems A-Z.
In those days computer disks didn't grow on trees.
