Nelsons' Pillar was blown up by the IRA in 1966. I managed to climb it a few weeks before the event. Now they have a needle

Nelsons (not Johnsons) as far as the eye can see?

Or take Nelson's Needle and put it in the Camel's Eye?

Needle in the Camel's Eye - Brian Eno

thence to...

Stationary Traveller - Camel
beautiful stuff and if traveling, in spite of stationarity, then one must be moving somehow...

Moving - Kate Bush

and that's all for now - I must be moving on. : )

James Joyce wrote a skit about Horatio (BTW he was an adulterer which annoyed the Irish people)

Have you heard of one Humpty Dumpty

How he fell with a roll and a rumble
And curled up like Lord Olofa Crumple
By the butt of the Magazine Wall

(CHORUS) Of the Magazine Wall/Hump, helmet and all?

2.  He was one time our King of the Castle
Now he's kicked about like a rotten old parsnip.
And from Green Street he'll be sent by order of His Worship
To the penal jail of Mountjoy

(CHORUS) To the jail of Mountjoy!/Jail him and joy.

3.  He was fafafather of all schemes for to bother us
Slow coaches and immaculate contraceptives for the populace,
Mare's milk for the sick, seven dry Sundays a week,
   Openair love and religion's reform,

Will Boris give back this needle to its rightful owner?

Nice pillar.  A few more songs as I'm cooking and packing...

Guinnevere - Crosby, Stills, and Nash

Wooden Ships - CSN

You Don't Have to Cry - CSN

(and you definitely don't - I'll be back later this week.) Ha ha! ; )

Isn't it similar to Straights' Private Investigation?

I mildly prefer Smokie's version. It may be a generational thing...

One more and it might be time for me to launch a fiber arts wordpress blog rather than torture all of you with my weird little projects.  : D

But this came out quite nicely. Getting more precise.

Off to an island for the weekend I think - and some big storms coming too.

and finally the first quilt!

It's certainly not perfect, but it's generally good.  (A reflection of its creator, no doubt... : D)

Over time, I plan to make some smaller "lap quilts" to give to people in nursing homes.

I can't fix the US (or Brexit), but I can make elderly people happy with something warm and beautiful. : )

So kind. Like a hot-water bottle and Horlicks?

Once upon a time and a very good time it was there was a moocow coming down along the road and this moocow that was coming down along the road met a nicens little boy named baby tuckoo. . . . His father told him that story: his father looked at him through a glass: he had a hairy face. He was a baby tuckoo. The moocow came down the road where Betty Byrne lived: she sold lemon platt.

So, once upon a time, there was a prog-rock band called Emerson, Lake and Palmer...

From the Beginning - ELP

and

Take a Pebble - ELP

That is the start for the evening and here is a W Forum Trivia question for you.

What was the username for the person who used this as his avatar?
