I am interested to focus on generating stock trading signal.

Welcome! Strictly speaking, your question belongs in the Student forum, but that’s not terribly important. I think you might get more helpful suggestions, though, if you get a little more specific about what you are actually trying to do. Like, what kind of data do you plan to look at? What are the most relevant papers in the literature that you will base your work on? What kind of holding periods are you looking at (sub-second to years)?
