FWIW My humble opinion based on intro/few pages/TOC available on the internet --
It looks very much like any other Aldridge's book: an eye-catching cutting-edge science/finance title, catch-all/poor content, and countless out of the blue debatable statements ("Since Python's syntax is very similar to those of other major languages, such as C++, Java, etc"), and in the end you're not sure what was the purpose of the book.
I'm feeling for Marco Avellaneda what I feel when my favourite music band releases a sh*tty new album. I wish it never released it.
And no, I'm not being grumpy this morning. Not much than usual.

Couldn't agree more, in fact I'd pay to see the struggle of re-writing a small pricing library to professional grade specs in all three languages.

It's the era of (copy and paste) (Python) coding.
I blame iphone attention span syndrome.

I may not be as old as you, but I’ve been around long enough to have seen plenty of copy/paste C++ programming, including the (copy from one bank)/(paste to another) variation. Python may have lowered the threshold and thus broadened the cast of characters, though.

I may not be as old as you, but I’ve been around long enough to have seen plenty of copy/paste C++ programming, including the (copy from one bank)/(paste to another) variation. Python may have lowered the threshold and thus broadened the cast of characters, though.
These days it's hard to know who does what. In the old days we use physical media which security can spot.
Here may paper tape to hazard test diodes/triodes in BASIC using Weibull. I get it for nostalgic reasons.
