I'm a junior stat arb trader on a prop desk...been running my own book for 2 years. looking at job ads in the industry, a lot of them ask for 3-5 years of audited results. how do you go about doing this? I know my firm would consider this highly confidential. I'm happy to verbally give an interviewer my pnl or give them a hard copy with the basic numbers, but I don't know how I could produce audited results. Anyone else been through this? Thanks in advance,2fingers.

you can't and shouldn't give them any more than what you suggest - for the vast majority of people this will be enough. If they think you are bullshitting they should be able to catch you out on the numbers - believe me a lot of traders are extremely reluctant to even give out a verbal p&l.

If this guy is a junior guy, then isn't every senior guy giving out not just a p&l, but also thousands of lines of code, the moment this guy walks out the door?I thought high-frequency strategies were based on the discounted value of future research, not on the fleeting value of the immediate dividends of that research.MP

yes you're right - but I'm talking about it from a headhunter standpoint. The more info you give out as an applicant the more you expose yourself - most of the guys running, or near the top of the European ED groups know each other well. Like it or not sometimes it can get back that people are looking. The less info you have given out, the more plausible denial you have if confronted. What you say is to the point however as most of the people looking at stat arb at the moment are looking to take the cheaper options knowing they can bring in most of the benefits the senior guys bring in, but at a fraction of the cost.
