In the MIT magazine recently, it was clearly stated that you were more likely to get an offer if you called up frequently to ask them what is going on.

No, that's harassment. Much better to sit outside their house all night in an unmarked car, and then follow them to work, and park outside their offices. The investment of your time shows that you're exactly the sort of student MIT is looking for.

heyis it the same with other universities also?? i mean, i have applied to quite a few universities and i am yet to hear from them. do u think i should enquire by calling them up??regards

i found calling unis telling them about exploding job or other uni offers helps. It puts your application on the top of the pile, and usually makes you more attractive to the admissions people
