FRM exam - help

Hi ShadiNo books required. The exam was very "work experience" oriented. (ie a lot of the qsns asked were not your standard textbook stuff) If you are a market person, you should purchase the Scheweser study guide. That should suffice.Cheers.

I just read the Jorion workbook quite thoroughly and did the past problems. I think they have started 'hiding' the past problems in the last couple of years though (that was 2000). The recommended reading is (was) absolutely not necessary.

I passed using the Jorion guide and found that it covered it adequately. In my experience with this and the CFA, I've found that the Schweser guides are the best and reading the actual texts will be a waste of your time IMHO. The guides compile all the readings into one or two books and cuts through all the basic stuff to give you what you need.

Jorion's book was quite enough for me. I had some market experience b4, and Jorion just added enough theoretical base to pass the exam. However, for serious work (for any risk manager) this book is far from being a sufficient guide.
