Trading career advice/ Business schools

July 11th, 2002, 3:55 pm

Hello, fellow career seekers- 20 yr. old economics graduate here with intl. background looking for a front office role in trading. Looking for good continental European business schools which offer Masters in BA, intl. Business Management, etc. Not very quant oriented but I heard front office trading isn't looking at too qunatitative backgrounds (true?). Major cost factor involved for me - so no UK or US schools - any recruiting from the likes of Lausanne? ESCP-EAP? Copenhagen? Stockholm? Rotterdam? An alternative easy entry with old economy industry would also be a benefit. What's the word on the street for these programms?Couldn't manage to get a job this year (surprise) so I have decided to go to China for half a year before joining a Uni for my Masters in Sep 2003 and have another go at the front office graduate intake in 2004.I've already managed to do an intern with FX Derivatives at DOOTSCHE BANK.Any other ideas on the job market outlook/trends for the next 1-2 years for wannabe front office traders like me?Career prospects for traders? Any re-emergence for proprietary trading? Any Graduate Career perspectives with Hedge Funds?
