I've downloaded this program along with Winedit to prepare documents with equations, but I don't have a clue how to use it.Does anyone have any basic instructions on how to get started with TeX??? Some example document and guide to how/where I compile the files would be helpful. Thanks in advance!!

or just in winedt go to Document->current workspace ... different demos... to compile them- just click on "Latex" button, "Bib" button, "Latex" button. But better spend 2-3 days reading on Latex writing.

You can have a look at the Introduction to Latex guide. Chapter 3 has a lot about maths.A.
