Study time for PRM Exam I and II?

December 11th, 2004, 6:46 pm

Anyone has experience about study time for the PRM exam I and II? I am physics Phd student and going to graduate in three month. I am planing to take PRM exam I and II before my graduation. I am good at math and have a little knowledge from hull, wilmott and shreve's books. Suppose I spend 10h/week, may I schedule the test in three month? Thanks!

You will have no problem with exam II. exam I will need preparation. 10 h/week for 3 months should be ok. I would suggest taking practice exams on PRMIA's website half way through your preparation.

Thanks, ppauper! One more question. Since I have to spend a lot of time on my thesis, I am afraid I have no time to prepare the Exam III and case study before my graduation. Do you think it's worth to take the PRM exam I and II before I start looking for a quant job instead of focusing on job hunting from now? Will this two exams make my resume a little bit nicer and show that I am sincerely considering transition.
