Seeking career advice, Maths Bsc,Fin Msc, Behavioral finance Phd.

Hi all,Hopefully i am in the right forum posting this. I am in my final year of my Phd in Behavioral finance (Reactions to corporate disclosures, abnormal volume etc.). I hold a degree in Maths (with Aero eng elements) and an Msc in Financial Economics.I was browsing the jobs forum as well as discussing with with academics about job prospects, and i was wondering what would be the best thing to do (job wise) and were to start looking (applying and talking to people.) . Academics dont really have a good knowledge of the City, and i am not in London or have the ability to get in touch with professionals, hence my post here.So what would i like to do? Tough call, i can only say i am interested in the behavioral finance general field (forecasting as well), market reactions, decision making processes, bounded rationality and adaptive learning expectations. Finally i have a basic knowledge of vbasic, and i am highly literate on computer related issues (i.e. if you want me to learn a program it is easy for me to adapt really fast).Anyhow i am not job hunting with this post, i just seek some advice on what to do from people that have (obviously) more career experience than me.1. What to look for.2. Where to look for it.3. Academia vs Industryare my main issues. I am looking forward to remove the "speed limiter" of a supervised Phd (will finish it by summer) and throttle up professionaly.I hope i didnt tire/bore you to death with my post.YoursYannis

I think there is interest in applying behavioural finance to stat arb and enhanced indexing. So have a look at the big indexers (Barclays, SSgA and L&G) and do some research on hedge funds.

Try RenTec & DE Shaw. They may be interested in modelling this.
