when u search on eBay, you will find a CFA L1 notes seller saying that his/her notes are not Scheweser but very similar. Has anyone bought on eBay before? From that seller? How are the notes really?

I don't wish to be harsh, but if you're thinking of doing the CFA for career reasons, then it's probably worth spending a bit of money to ensure that you're gonna pass first time round, rather than at the 3rd attempt. Spend the extra 200 or 300 quid that Stella, Schweser or BPP want, compared to the guy on eBay, and you stand a much better chance of getting though. If CFA on your CV is not worth the extra bit of cash, why are you doing the CFA in the first place ?CFA is just a badge to put on your CV - if you want a focussed set of readings particularly for your career, then spend an hour or 2 browsing in a bookshop for things that really seem useful to you in your job

From that seller? How are the notes really?could you be more specific, i.e. which ad in particular (ie ad title)?the "CFA LEVEL 1-STUDY PACKAGE NOTES & Q AND A" ?or the "2006 CFA level 1 Question bank+Mock Exams+Study Notes" ?or ?it may be only 99cents (in the case of those mentioned) but unless you get a genuine endorsement from a happy customer (as opposed to a friend of the author or the author posing as a happy customer), I'd go with a proven quantity, schweser or stalla. The ebay ones might be fine but they might be bad, or old, or incomplete. For example, the ad entitled:"2006 CFA level 1 Question bank+Mock Exams+Study Notes" says:>>These are NOT the Schweser notes. >>It is actually a combination of Schweser Notes and Stalla Notes.Do the math. 2006 Schweser and Stalla notes just came out and there's no way someone could have read both and combined them into a summary already.Plus even if they're 2005 notes (out of date) you're getting a double filter. The criticism of study notes is you save time but lose information, and if these guys are filtering schweser you've lost even more informationThe one exception: if you're planning to study mostly from the texts and want studynotes to help explain isolated instances when stuff is unclear in the texts, the ebay notes should be fine.
