Do you know of anywhere that has a free trial version of mathematica ?thanksAs far as I remember, Wolfram Research Inc gives the teachers of calculus classes a free-trial (but you still have to buy it). If you are associated with a university, more than likely your school has purchased Mathematica in the form of annual fee. If so, contact your school computing office and inquire after that. Another possibility, get a pirate version... :-)

I think you'll probably find it difficult to use a pirated version. When installed it throws out a number which you call up Wolfram R. with and then they provide you with the key. My understanding is that that the number it throws out is dependent on possibly one or both of OS & hardware. I had a crash a while ago and when I tried re-installing my Mathematica on my new OS my old key would'nt work....had to call them up for a new key.
