Hi everybody!I just want to know if the specialist master degrees of Essec (and especially the MS Financial Techniques that was ranked number 1 in France this year for the capital markets industry) are well recognized in UK and the US.See the syllabus here: EssecIt's a good intensive program combining a classical MSc in Finance with besides a strong emphasis on quantitative Finance and very finance-industry oriented (that means practical and up to date with the needs). So could you tell me whether this Master is appreciated in the City or Wall Street, or if a MSc from the City University or from the Reading Isma Centre would be more appreciated ?Thank you very much.Velkro

Hi velkro,Being a graduate of Essec, I can say that as an institution it is well regarded in the UK, for both the general MBA program and the MS (in fact, UK banks are often recruiting only there and HEC). The teachers are very good, very market finance oriented (HEC tends to be more "corporate"). Still, this may not be as quant as what you mght get in certain City university programs. In terms of quality, I would rank Essec at least on the same level but it may not be as widely known on the quant part of the business... Typically, graduates of the MS will more often tend to be traders or "light" quants (not much programming as far as I know...)Hope this helps...
