Any recommendations for an MA in Economics and Fin?

Hi, I graduated from school in December with an MA in Econ and Fin and like most of you have not been able to find a job. I am looking to get into a quantitative financial position. Does anyone have any recommendations on finding a position? I live in NY.

I did, didn't get in. Besides I don't have that passion for economics to a PHD.

MA in fin is a kiss of death in US because this means they did not let you continue into phd part of the program.

No I did a 5 yr BS/MA in Economics in 4 1/2 years. If I hadn't done the Masters part I would've graduated right before the recession.

Besides I don't have that passion for economics to a PHD.Just be sure that your dislike of economics is enough that even after spending a couple of years doing a non finance job you still don't want to do a PhD.There is no fairy tale story, especially in this market and as I am hearing things are not changing a lot in 1-2 year.
