Hi everyone, I'm currently an MFE student in the UK, with 2 years of work experience on the buy side, seeking full time employment in Quantitative Research/Structuring/Strategies. In the past while I was still at work, I tried to change jobs and sent numerous copies of my CV to many HHs to no avail. The only thing that changed between then and now is the fact that I'm enrolled in one of the more well-known MFE programs in the UK. Could you please take a look at my CV and tell me what you think of it? Wilmott forum has always been very helpful in various ways, and I was hoping to get some major help with my CV one more time. Thank you for your time.- edit: thanks everyone for your input!

Maybe I should do your CV as a CQF lecture ?There's something about your CV that says "spreadsheet jockey", you need a total re-write. Start by forming a list of things you can do, then a couple of days later add to it more things that you remembered.Delete "facilitated" I see it as a bullshit word, in this case you don't even need to put a new word there. You don't "conduct an analysis", you analyse. As it happens, we had a client this week wanting a German speaking quant in London with sell side structuring experience.

Thanks, Dominic. This "30-second impression" is what I was exactly looking for. I also sent you a PM with my full contact information. Could you please send me a copy of the Guide? The CQF lecture sounds like a good idea. I bet there are quite a few like myself, even with work experience, not knowing how to best present themselves....

kimkc84 - you mention Oxbridge on your anon cv - it might be not as hard as you think for someone to work out who you are. I would take it down if I were you.

if you're enrolled in mfe program, you will probably find a job thru the program. why would an hh waste his time to place you when he knows companies want to recruit you via the program to save hh fees?

i think you should say which department instead of front/middle office? Also i will add the achievement section.
