Talk on Fisher Black at Bloomberg

November 25th, 2009, 2:41 pm

Congrats to all the guys that talked yesterday!I know some of them read this forum (like Aaron!). I was a little bit disappointed because I was expecting something totally different. When you announce people like Derman, Brown, Carr, etc. you expect to learn stuff. I left after an hour 1/2 because I had to but I was told that the first glimpse of equation came after 2hours. And it was the BS formula! With probably over 90% of PhDs/Master's in the room I think I wasnt the only one disappointed. I guess it was just a networking event to get quants to get together. Am I the only one?

Unfortunately I had to miss the event; with the holiday, it became a complicated week for travel.eman was kind enough to post his talk and slides for those who missed it. Perhaps some of the other speakers will do the same.Emanuel Derman's Blog

Good talk. I always enjoy an expert talking about as aspect of something "basic" as they penetrate to the root of a problem help us poor people understand it much better. Feynman is an excellent example of that, as is Martin Gardner.
