Finding Edited message

Is there a way to find out the edited messages? If not, can we do something about it?If yes, anyone has any suggestions how we can do it? May be a link(inside the thread) which pops up a history of edits & additions with name and time in chronological order? Also along with it, moving the thread to the top, when edited?I feel it is important, since you miss some important edits, since it has a very high chance of going unnoticed with the current setup.

Ah...I do not support the look-back option on edited threads. At a practical level, many times we are just editing for typos and deletion of excess material. Do you really want to see "teh" changed to "the"? Or if I accidentally pasted a long article about financial regulation in twice. Most of you will not even read the first article and you certainly do not need a second whack at it. Other times we have changed our minds about the quality or tone of our content. Sometimes this is a fairly urgent situation. I, for one, do not want you to see what I have been up to when my social communication filter is not working properly. And I believe that my friend farmer would feel the same way.We all need a little calibration once in awhile.

Hello trackstar,I failed to convey what I meant. I agree with your point. But what I am trying to say is different.I will give an example:Say X posts a message, I read it. Y posts one on top that, I read that too. After that I have seen X going and editing his old message. This will mostly go unnoticed. And in some cases X would have made some important corrections. So if there is a link which shows the recent history of edits, I can pick latest changes anyone has made. Also if in that forum, if that thread is pushed to top (like in cases where a new post is made), it will get everyone's attention.Getting me?

Yes, I am aware of that too. So with some people, on a worthwhile discussion, it makes sense to review the entire thread a little later.Anyway, I am kind of kidding about being opposed to your suggestion. They can do whatever makes sense and is technologically feasible. In fact, if all of our edits were visible, perhaps the denizens of the OT would behave better in general. Or not.
