MATIF is down

Can't take my profits out. It feels like trading cryptos, indeed.

It was a thing when I was doing my DPhil. Happy days! Probably.

Baguettes, a wine festival and Paris rooftops vie for a spot on UNESCO heritage list

Universal indeed! Just like the Champs Elysées, Saint Michel and old Beaujolais wine.

French baguette may be included in UNESCO heritage list

Banana bread? Yes. Babies? Not so much. Pandemic lockdowns may have encouraged home baking, but not the other kind of "bun in the oven" — at least in France. The number of French births dropped to the lowest level in almost three decades in October, intensifying a downward trend in one of Europe's most fertile countries. (BBG)

Olivier Giroud scores 52nd goal to break Henry’s France record

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/12/ ... nce-record

Somewhat of a dubious accolade, n'est pas?
They sought it with thimbles, they sought it with care; They pursued it with forks and hope; They threatened its life with a railway-share; They charmed it with smiles and soap.

Congratulations to Delphine Claudel, who won her first XC skiing World Cup race today (and the first by a French woman) - in the final leg of the Tour de Ski no less, skating up the monster alpine hill in Val di Fiemme to a knock-out victory over a world class field.

A few kilometers away from here!
Spoiler: it is likely there will be NO snow.

Or raclette maybe? But we French face a stark dilemna with it, that is red wine or white wine to go along?
