The word 'quant' is vague as the role of such a person can encompass different things, but generally are there positions that involve both trading as well as modelling and programming?I am interested in trading and am reading lots of books about economics and trading the markets but I am also spending a lot of time learning C++ and stochastic calculus. In early October I plan to apply to various investment bank graduate sales and trader programs and see what I can lucky enough to get offered anything (I have a first class maths degree from Imperial and a masters).

If you have to ask that question, perhaps you should consider another master's degree?
