I'm studying for a Masters in Physics at Cambridge next year, after obtaining a first class degree in maths & physics. I've decided that I don't want to do a PhD just yet, but would rather see what a job in an investment bank is actually like before I make any 3 years commitments. Are there any headhunters that specialise in placing non-MFE masters students in quantitative roles (not necessarily FO) or internships? Or even headhunters that don't necessarily specialise in this but would be willing to take such a person on their books? Also, what are the core competancies I should focus on in the next year to give myself the best shot of obtaining such a position? I've heard it's not exactly necessary to know stochastic calculus or advanced C++ to get most positions..
