CDS Market Liquidity

February 10th, 2011, 1:33 pm

I am in the process of narrowing down what I want to write about for my Senior Thesis and am looking for some feedback. Currently my topic is Liquidity in the CDS Market but I'm curious to hear what other members think of this topic and if anyone has any other ideas.

Senior thesis? As in high school? I don't think you'll have much fun with that topic to be honest but then again I don't know what drove you to select it.What sort of length are you looking to write? What is the topic universe you can select from? Which alternative topic have you thought about? Have you spoken to some of your teachers for suggestions?

CDS Market Liquidity

I am a Senior in College and can write about any topic I choose. My advisor is a Fixed Income Professor who has written about liquidity spillovers numerous times before. I have an interest in studying the Liquidity of any Market and would like to stay within this area.

CDS Market Liquidity

If you want to stay within liquidity and not pick any "bold new topics" the CDS liquidity might be a decent option. At least you'll have access to a lot of previous research on the topic. If you want to look at liquidity in other markets might I suggest having a look at the liquidity of emerging markets as an option. More specifically the "BRIC like" countries (CIVETS.... anagram soup) that have great predicted growth potential but their markets are not very developed:http://knowledge.wharton.upenn.edu/arti ... =2679There has been talk about there being potential for index products on these but it may not be feasible if the market liquidity is minimal.
