Cauchy-23 (a.k.a. "Closing time") converges to the same limit (death), just under different conditions.

"George Orwell was an informer"

That's sacrilege!

Q. Prove that the complex numbers form a vector space under the operations of + and *.
A. "Isn’t it that all numbers follow all the axioms listed? Ie. for any number x, then addition is associative and so on. Unique multiplicative inverse doesn’t make sense for a number does it? I understand the inverse in the sense of a function".

Is there are confirmation of that or just speculations? Orwell was a close friend of Józef Czapski, a Polish painter and writer, and an officer who - as one of very few - survived Katyn (Katyn is the name of a town, near which just one of the massacres took place; ISayMoo's distinguished great-grandfather died there). Czapski was a witness to what happened and Orwell passed on the information to the Western world, from what I'm reading.

As I said, MI5 stuff was declassfied not so long ago.

My theory: Orwell couldn't write. He got his wives to do it. He was basically a journalist.(I read all his books by age 18).

The English Wikipedia entry reads gibberish to me. I had to go to the Ukrainian one. It seems the list is just Orwell's personal feelings about who was a crypto-communist or a sympathiser of the ideology.
What has Katharine Hepburn done to him?? She didn't want to go on a date with him? That's because he didn't have a chin dimple, like her beloved Spencer Tracey!

Double-, triple-, quadruple-, ... is not foreign to my brain - one can rarely exclude all alternatives.
Why the quote though?

All ye Orwell fans are in need of an update. It's not 1984 anymore.
I always knew there was something odd about his writing style.

I'm not Orwell's fan. I only read Animal Farm and 1984. I wasn't impressed - he doesn't stand a chance with Eastern European writers in this genre.
