Currently I am interviewing for 4 different positions at a same US investment bank. All of them are derivatives related jobs.I have read some posts here. But still I don't know what is the best career path. From slevin's post, it seems to me that he is an FI quant and he thinks sales is better than quant. But from the job posts by all these headhunters at Wilmott, Quant is very highly paid. But it seems to me not the case in real life. I work in a CD quant group. It is no way for a VP quant to get 300k GBP including bonus. Maybe the head of the quant can get this. Again, trader and structurer are also very interesting for me. Can you guys tell me what is the best career to go considering the current base, bonus and future upside earnings potential.Last but not the least, the job market is improving fast, especially in the derivatives field.
