It is true that the founding president of PCRM is a (non-practicing) medical doctor, but they would probably be more honestly described as a vegan advocacy and lobbying group. Not that there is anything wrong with that..

Founded in 1985, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is a nonprofit organization that promotes preventive medicine, conducts clinical research, and encourages higher standards for ethics and effectiveness in education and research.
Sounds a bit fishy.

Actually, I think they are against that, too.

I can only speak from experience with regards to the United States, but in acute care, they don't have to be doctors everywhere, and in some places they cannot be doctors per statute. I did business brokerage in the medical sector, although there are ways around just about everything. In veterinary industry in some places non-veterinarians are not allowed to, but again, there are ways around this in terms of organizational structure making it a moot point.

In acute care there is normally a position called a medical director. Very often the CEO is someone with experience in the medical sector, like a nurse, but it doesn't have to be.

Medicine is definitely a business. Hospital executives get paid a lot of money - FYI. Also, non-profit doesn't mean poor. There is an issue in general in the United States were non-profits enrich their executives because less people are watching the bottom line (they're not trying to maximize profit). In many ways, its worse that they are nonprofit. If they are a non-profit though, you should be able to look up disclosures about what they they paid their executives.

I have a lot of experience with this and I have also analyzed a lot of medical firms, including consolidators.

A good resource for information on hospitals in general: https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/

How can I check if a thesis/.article/tables are phoney?
My way: send me the C++ code so that I can reproduce the results. Stops 'em dead in their tracks.

Re-running a code is not reproducing but repeating. If you want to reproduce the result, write your own code based on the description of method in the article ;-)

The vegan doctors' petition quotes several big independent research studies, not their own findings. Still, it smells nori wraps...

"Some of these tree medicines are fat soluble and others are water soluble, and entry sites in the skin will receive them both. In general, the fats will travel to the brain, the waters to the major organs. The body will extract what it needs."

Back at home, when I feel ill or in pain, I go to the forestand lay down in the moss. I feel how it connects through my skin with my body and gives it all it needs to be healed and relieved. Like a wise doctor :-) I sometimes stay there, move from tree to tree, touch and smell plants and lichens, in some trans-like experience. Interestingly, I can't remember the smallest animal accompanying me (while normally there's a lot of motions of various inertia). You must think that I'm loco, but people there practiced such healing for centuries.

What if life on Earth is an intelligent design and the engineers who created animals gave them forest as shelters and the source of any cure they might need?

It depends on the use case. It depends on how accurate/known the input requirements are. And/or massaging the output to suit the  input.

Special cases
10,000 faster SABR
100,000,000 faster than ODEs.

Data use is clearly described in professional medical articles. Nobody "massages" the data.
Expert groups aren't supposed to be checked by the public.
Another thing is that you shouldn't request the code from the author of an article, but from the organisation who ordered the research. The code belongs to them, and they aren't going to give something worth £40,000 - £80,000 for no good/legally justified reason to no one special. I usually cannot reuse any part of such code, and I remove all resources related to the project from my drives (the code I wrote included) after the period stated in the contract. To be fair, I also ignore emails you showed that you sent to ML authors - sound like a time-waster.
