Hello everybody,Is there anyway to measure (or get previous measures) of the off balance size of american banking system? I need to get to some conclusions on the effects of sub prime crisis in both on and off balance size of american banks. Any guidance will be appreciatedThanks

It is fair to say that the crisis threw the banks off balance big time. On a more serious note, BIS, ISDA and DTCC are plausible sources to get a sense of the scale of the various derivatives markets, which is presumably what you are after.

Thank you, but I only see commercial banks' info, since FINRA insures only deposit money banks. Investment banks (the most significant data dimension in the insights I'm looking for, due to their credit exposure on derivative contracts previous to the subprime crisis) are missing on the source you recommend (or I guess you recommend). Thanks any way, but if you know where I can find that info. (I already looked through the SEC and FDIC with no success)
