mechanical weed removal is needed, by humans or robotic-machines..... also many weeds are excellent food.

how could government officials put their good-to-go stamp on these weed killers that they know very little about in terms of potential harm.

what is the best way to get some money back from monsanto. sue them or short them or both?

Jurors give $289 million to a man they say got cancer from Monsanto's Roundup - CNN August 10

"Dewayne Johnson's victory Friday against Monsanto could set a massive precedent for thousands of other cases claiming the company's famous herbicide causes non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
...
Johnson, 46, applied Roundup weedkiller 20 to 30 times per year while working as a groundskeeper for a school district near San Francisco, his attorneys said.

He testified that during his work, he had two accidents in which he was soaked with the product. The first accident happened in 2012.
Two years later, in 2014, he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma."

Monsanto may appeal, but at least this does set the initial precedent and may also help his family.

Monsanto Loses $289 Million Verdict in Roundup Cancer Trial

"Jurors awarded him $39 million for his losses and $250 million to punish the company after finding it liable for a design defect and failing to warn of Roundup’s risks. Monsanto said it will appeal."

"Johnson was seeking $412 million in damages."

So the appeal could bring it up!

"Monsanto scientists knew of the cancer risk posed by Roundup as far back as the 1970s, but failed to inform the public and instead engaged in a "deliberate effort to distort the truth” as the weed killer generated hefty returns, Johnson’s lawyer, Brent Wisner, told the jury in closing arguments Tuesday."

"The trial was an important test of the evidence against Monsanto and will serve as a template for litigating thousands of other claims over the herbicide."

For those interested, a clip from the press conference following the verdict. Includes short individual statements from Dewayne Johnson and two of his attorneys. If you click, it will just give you the link to youtube, per AFP, but it's worth another click.

I guess the relevant governments could seize the assets of Bayer and Monsanto for the benefit of cancer survivors and the family of their victims.

Bayer Takes the Hit After Monsanto Loses Roundup Cancer Trial

what is more scary is that bureaucrats often base their conclusions if something cause cancer or not as evidence if it is healthy or not...

Ban entire pesticide class to protect children's health, experts say

one should consider to go back to mechanical weed removal, robots, or people working the fields (this would also get more people up from the sofa)
