From the Philosophy of Mathematics thread in the General Forum
posted by Cuchulainn earlier today:

"John Conway, the world's most charismatic mathematician, falls victim to Covid-19

www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOCe5HUObD4&lis ... dex=4&t=0s"

A nice conversation about expectations, ambition, and just being - and at the end he talked about the Monster Group.

(See: What Is....The Monster? - American Mathematical Societywww.ams.org › notices › what-is)

A number of other engaging interviews and lectures by JC on YouTube.

He passed away on April 11. RIP

John Horton Conway (the inventor of The Game of Life) taken by coronavirus
Any gifs yet?
We wouldn't miss that one! (reported on 12 April). I'm sure ppauper would be the first to point it out. I miss him.

Did a search and yes, it was on the "What kind of car do you drive?" thread.

Which was mistakenly assumed to be the RIP thread.

I miss ppauper too - and Wilfrid.

Wilfrid would also always ensure that we were posting proper content in the right forum on the correct thread, what?

Yes, and since you have been there quite a few times, it seems, maybe you have seen some Andalusian horses?  Also called the Pure Spanish horse.  It's a Baroque breed and one of my favorites, along side the Lusitano.

I never got past Benidorms. BTW the legendary Imca used to live in our village.

This kind of music is not played so much anymore because the country is run by a progressive liberal elite.

Apropos horses (and Katharine Ross recently mentioned in another thread, or it was her cat who was mentioned). What movie is this?
