My question is -- are there really entry level jobs for people without the local background? How is it possible to surv...

Phone interviews seem to go okay, but no results...

<t>Hi,I wanted to ask people's advice on my situation. So, I have tried to find a quant job since last October (getting my PhD in Math in May). I started my search with the quantiative exam at Credit Suisse, went to their on-site interviews, but didn't get an offer. I think I did okay there, but com...

Implied volatility vs. one from modeling

<t>Well, my answer was implied, but he said implied volatility tells us about the past of the stock, not necessarilily the stock will have the same implied volatility in the future....I don't think there is supposed to be a final answer, maybe he tried to initiate some sort of a discussion? Maybe he...

Implied volatility vs. one from modeling

<t>I got the following question at an interview."Suppose your implied volatility is 20% and you also did some modeling and you got 21%. Which one will you use to price an option?"I didn't understand the question and don't know what kind of modeling was meant there, and there was no time to clarify.....

<t>Hi Alan,Thank you so much for your answer! I didn't lose interest at all - sorry I made such impression. No reply after an interview

Suppose a company (a big and famous one) promised to get back to you after the final on-site round of interviews by a certain date, but never did, and does not reply to emails and phone calls. Should it be understood they are no longer interested?
