why anyone would even contemplate starting an MFE right now is beyond me. a PhD i can understand but an MFE is of little use outside of an industry which may very well not be anywhere near as lucrative 2-3 years down the line.

if you're working at a 'Getco tier' prop firm i don't think you'll have any problem.however, there are so many small prop firms out there, i don't know whether experience at one of these places would be sufficient to open the door with regards to a move to a known HF/IB later on.
