IDEAS is the blue-sky quant research group run by Roy Demeo. That's why they hire experienced quanters.I believe the other group is just the desk quant group.Unless you're some sort of academic hotshot in math finance you're not going to get into the IDEAS group.

They hire mostly experienced, as I recall. I applied to them for entry-level, and that led to an interview with a desk at MS (I took another position instead).

You might have more luck with an energy group of a foreign bank based in Calgary. Canadian banks seem a bit stodgy and not very quant friendly.
