Should the Lib Dems be tippexed or rehabitated?

September 14th, 2019, 10:20 pm

Leftist, Alt Right, Marxist, Nihilist, Neo Celtic Reconstructionists, and splitters, all opinions appreciated. (Obviously that doesn't include Liberal Democrats.)

As the we-will-do-the-opposite-of-what-we-promise party* they are the natural home for most of the current MPs.

* For obvious reasons this cannot be the official public policy.

Lib Dems voters are the sweetest, nicest, kindest, people you could ever wish to meet. Also, the most naive, least street smart, most gullible. If there were still Sabre Tooth Tigers then Lib Dems would be their favourite low-hanging fruit snack.

Yeah, a lot has changed since Jeremy Thorpe's day.

Ah, Jeremy Thorpe. He single handedly killed off the Trilby hat. But he had help killing Norman Scott's dog. Boom boom!

In fairness, Harold Wilson considered blowing up Ronan O'Rahilly's Radio Caroline ("Sound of the Nation") because it mentioned his extra-maritals. He muzzled the BBC.

Ed Davey, "Our economy will not grow strongly again unless we repair our broken relationship with Europe"

"Removing the Conservatives Brexit trade barriers would be a massive boost for British jobs, British business, and the British economy"

"But by ruling out important steps like the youth mobility scheme, or key long term goals like membership of the EU Single Market, the Labour government are trying to grow economy with one arm tied behind it's back"
