Well, extrapolating from a small firsthand sample plus what random people say on the internet, your expectation after an interview (even a successful one) should be to be ghosted. As in, not even rejected. And, to be clear, that’s got nothing to do with DB, just the market in general.

I've had a similar experience with DB many years ago, they said they want to make an offer, discussed salary expectations, and then it all went quiet and the deal was off.

The financial industry has quite low standards in how they treat job applicants.

 But I've been spoilt by working in the tech industry in recent years.

Many financial institutions have outsourced internal service departments (e.g. accounting and HR) in search of higher profits. Poor service is unfortunately now the norm. Get used to it. And, trying to provide some free and frank advice here, you are being somewhat indiscreet in a business and in particular a company known for discretion.
