This is an excellent program as far as knowledge/per day. One of my top former students is there now, and if you pm me I will send you his e-mail.Trouble is: not 'famous' brand name.I think it is a bargain and better than G. Tech. because of placement opportunities.

Am a student there. An excellent program, an average faculty(you were wrong about them from being top unis)...the best part is its based in chicago, a block or two away from CME, CBOT and CBOE, and good jobs. though most of the students are now working for MO in banks(which is the easier way out). a few got into hedge funds( tough for us to find jobs here). everybody got a job( yes even in this economy). its not as mathematically rigorous as u of c. i heard Dr.Ong is also going to start a risk management program. that should be good if it happens. i would say its a lot beeter option than gtech or rutgers. any more questions feel free to ask.

James, How could a son of the South turn against Tech?

I think GaTech is under-rated by uppity yankees, but the placement problems there continue to hamper an otherwise solid program. I have only heard of this second and third hand. But you pay your tuition for reputation and placement, as well as instruction. This is a fixable problem, if the Dean and program directors get on the ball with it. Then watch out, the south will rise again (and this time without the ideological baggage).

So true, so true. The program has sunk a bunch of money into placement this year, recognizing that it is the biggest 'opportunity' here. Everyone watch out!

This is my first quarter here at IIT in the Finance program (Fall 03). So far it sucks. The professors don't really seem to care about the classes and teach at a very subpar level. They took in too many people into the program this year and even waived some foreign students Toeffel exam by making them pay and take an English course the first quarter. So far, the people behind the IIT Finance program are money hungry people, just taking in random people. I bet you if a bum from Union Station, he could get in if he were willing to pay. If you are bright and did really well on the GMAT like I did, do not make the same mistake by coming here.
