i tried couple of yrs ago - unfortunately I didn't receive any funding. maybe u can try fulbright?

Somebody mentioned that if you get funding from Fullbright you can't work in the US after graduation.

funding at CMU/NYU? quite impossible. At least you wont get it before you start the program and after you do, the chances are bleak. For all practical purposes, negligible chances.Dont waste your time with fullbright. They are not looking for people who want to pursue degrees as MBAs/MFE etc...more on the lines of a PhD or a thesis-based research masters. Even if you do get it ( depending on which country you are coming from the difficulty level varies-- its easier to get it from europe than asia, just more competition), you will come here on a J-1 Visa and have to return to your home country at least for 2 years immediately after completing the program.

What about loans? Are there loans I can get for certain upon admission? Will these schools look at the financial backing of students as a criteria?

Depends what country you are from.It's difficult if you don't have residency in US( I mean GC) BTW do have your admission or still thinking to apply

You can get citibank loan very easily, if you have a friend or relative to sign the sponsorship. Otherwise, its a bit hard but not impossible. Again you can apply for the loan before coming to the program but they will release the money only 2-3 weeks before the program starting date.
