Serving the Quantitative Finance Community

I've learnt of the quantilb library from one of the postings. i have download the library and try to use it. could someone tell me if this library is actually used in the industry? and how reliable? the man pages have alot of material. looks like quantlib is extremely comprehensive. i am really excited about this. however, i have never used any open source stuff for work; what is why i have some reservations. thanks
