A friend of mine interviewed there. Supposedly it's run by a bunch of X Goldman Sachs Asset Management guys. They seem to be pretty top notch and manage a large amount of $ for the number of employees (about 60 I believe).

Whats the salary range (base+bonus) there? and how the work environment? Is it a better learning experience than Investment banks? Thanks :-)

Can't comment about salary, etc.The fund is fairly large (several $billion AUM) and heavily focused on quantitative models. Also, AQR is popular with some fund of funds managers that are looking for "diversification." The partners have impressive credentials (ex GS) and contribute periodically to the academic debate through a series of articles and discussions. In all fairness, I think the track record has been good thus far. Personally, I am becoming less and less convinced that long-term success can be based entirely on quantitative trading models. However, I am sure that many folks on this forum would disagree. All in all, it would be a good place to work if you want to focus on quantitative trading.JABS
