Best Prep for Trading Career

April 23rd, 2004, 12:56 pm

I want to get into trading and I've received admission from Columbia's MBA and MFE programs, Chicago's MBA program, NYU's MBA Program, and Wharton's MBA Program. I'm a career-changer and in my mid-20's with 6 years of consulting experience and a physics/math undergrad. I'm leaning towards the MFE program and then doing the Stern MBA part-time afterwards. Would you do this or would you go to one of the good MBA programs? Thanks in advance.

Wow, you got in all those places? From what I've seen banks like to place MBAs primarily in sales type roles. You should talk to career placement at each and gauge where people go (and thus see who recruits for what).
