Dear All,I believe in your experience to advise me : I have received three internship offers and would like to now what is the best (whan it comes to experience and reputation) : exotic credit derivatices structuring at CSFB, IR derivatives prop trading at SocGen or Summer Program at RBS ?Please let me know if you have some friends of yours who went through one of this bank. What it was like like ? Did they learn a lot ? Were they well-positionned in their business ?Thanks a lot !

The role at SG sounds good but I guess would be in Paris....CSFB is the safest bet.

whoo-wee that's a tricky one - my intial reaction would be to wipe RBS of the slate straight away - but what you really need is to get insight from someone 1-2 yrs down the line who did the RBS summer programme - was it useful, did it lead to offers in the right area from RBS and / or others? Also you need to take into account 1) what do you want to do?: do you want to be a prop trader, do you want exposure to exotics or do you just want a overview of a bank's areas - once you know this then 2) what do you want to get out of it?: if you want an offer at the end of it, what kind of area? - I guess given this is all so subjective I'll give my own spin on it: prop at SG - if you impress the others, a prop desk should have enough power to be able to make you a offer without you having to jump through the usual hoops of HR etc.

Benchy,At least the equity derivatives prop traders at SG are all in Paris. I don't know if the IR traders are in London (Tower Hill) but I am pretty sure that they want to relocate all (non sales) business to Paris. In case the job is in Paris, expect all the training to be in french.I would personally go to CSFB.Regards

Philippe G is the boss of SG in Paris, I heard he is brilliant and I had the opportunity that he ain't like many French traders at SG (King of the world)RBS would give you a secured place next year in the Training program
