I am. I've read one or two of Derman's (auto)biographical writings before, and they were very balanced and informative.

I have had the pleasure of reading this book. If you are looking for a sex, drugs and rock'n'roll quant autobiography, this is not it. But it is fascinating for its description of Derman's journey from academia to banking, in particular his feelings and motivations as he descends from Ivory Tower to the Street. P

PI want to read about physicist turned quant. I like this genre: read Monkey Business, FIASCO, Den of Thieves, Garbarians, Liar's Pocker, Reminiscences of the Stock Operator. This stuff reads better than any Tom Clancy novel.

no interest in rock and roll. All i want to know is how to combine my party life style with the quant life style. and be world class in bothI know derman wrote an article on how someone pulled lydia, their secretary who had high convexity, by knowing extreme value thoery so I guess I'm looking for something like that. Hell I dont care if its a lie so long as its believeable. Something to keep going through those phases of desparation

I hate this. I did not get an advance copy and now, like it is tv, I have to wait until next season. This isn't like 1 month. Nobody even has positions this long out. Geez. October? What, is this marketing in the quant community? Paul, E said you can send it along to me. He said if I am lucky I'll make it onto the back cover, but it'll be below PW's blip
