Hi. I am going to pursue the PHd I mentioned in previous threads. I was just wondering how important the institution you gained the PHd at was when applying for quant roles, or are they more interested in what you can do and that the institution is a bit irrelevant. The university I am thinking of doing the PHd at seem to have a lot of links with engieneering and biosciences with regards to solving pde's work, but no real links to the finance sector even though I will be solving finance pde's over the next 3 years - whether they hope that my PHd will create new links with these financial institutions I do not know. Or am I worrying about nothing?
