quantitative strategies

I'm trying to develop a more systematic approach at evaluating quantitative hedge fund strategies and move away from the industry norm qualitative analysis. I would like to study any resources that will help me examine these strategies and investigate better their robustness, efficiency and reliability. Does anyone know of any useful journals/books/articles that I could use as a resource in the future whenever evaluate a new quantitative strategy.Thank you,

Are you talking about evaluating and comparing strategies of different hedge funds. I work for a financial consulting company and I face this problem very often. Any references will be highly appreciated. I am sure people working for hedge funds use a systematic approach to evaluate different strategies and pick the most suitable one. Any insight into this area (or references) will also be very helpful to novices like me.Thanks!P.S: If only I could know what goes on within a hedge fund. They do not provide us the details of the strategies.... which is understandable and fair!

Im specifically interested in trying to evaluate quantitative based hedge funds. has there been any research on into a format that can be applied to quant models that will help evaluate the models reliability etc. If someone sent a quant based hedge fund prospectus and data to me today, how would I go about analysing the risk and robustness?what are the best resources for hedge fund research? hedgeworld.com etc
