You're moving here in July? Are you Scandanavian? It gets hot and humid here in July. Look at chicagotribune.com, chicagosuntimes.com and chicagoreader.com for apartment info and ideas.

So where should I get a place to live, I'm confused. Lincoln Park or Goldcoast? It seems really expensive to rent a furnished apartment too?

Some of the criteria:Are you a value shopper?Bucktown, Wicker Park, Buena Park, UptownAre you a baseball fan?WrigleyvilleAre you gay?BoystownDo you like college girls?Near DePaulIf price is not as much an issue, and you are fine with taking the train into work, go with Lincoln Park or Gold Coast. They have the most entertainment/food/etc.Intruiging new spot is South Loop or Printer's Row. It is very close to the financial district (probably walk to work). Mostly loft buildings. The area can be kind of dead on the weekends, but it has grown substantially in the last few years. Prices are fairly reasonable. Close to highways as well.I hope you enjoy your stay.

Commander Edward Henry "Butch" O'Hare, the U.S. Navy's first flying ace and Medal of Honor recipient in World War IIQuoteButch's father, Eddie O'Hare, was an attorney and business partner of the famous gangster Al Capone. He helped run Capone's horse and dog track operation in Chicago. He was described as being devoted to his son. There was a point when Eddie decided to secretly become an informant for the Internal Revenue Service and it was with his help that the government convicted and imprisoned Capone for income tax evasion.

What are the less obvious tourist destinations or interesting places to visit in Chicago during the summer? Or is it better to save more time for NYC? :-)
