When to start sending out CVs?

March 17th, 2005, 8:27 pm

A simple question that probably has many not-so-simple answers:I finish my PhD in December and I started looking into working in London. When is the appropriate time to start sending my cv to recruiters with relevant jobs? Example, for a job posted here in March, will they even consider a potential candidate that cannot possibly start working before december? Granted, even if they wont consider me for the job, they will have my cv to match for other jobs in the future etc. Any recommendations are appreciated!

I don't see it as an either/or.Beauty of databases is that your details will sit there for a long time before someone actually deletes them. With all due respect, we all know that the last bit of writing up a PhD rarely takes the time allocated Once you're actually submitting the final draft, then send CV again. At most firms, your CV will often get at least a glimpse before filing for future reference. It is of course good practice to put your expercted completion data is a prominent position.Small detail, butr make sure you give an Email address that will persist after you leave college. Bit sad if they try to contact you at an address that doesn't work.PM me if you wanbt a GMail account.
