Pat Hagan; Time to Suit Up !

September 17th, 2002, 5:22 pm

Bloomberg news "Bear Sterns wants employees to suite up or ship out. Two year after adopting causual dress code at the higth of the dot-com boom, the sixth-largest U.S. securities firm has reversed course and will require workers to don formal business attire, according to an e-mail sent to employees today."Rumors that Pat Hagan at lunch time was seen rushing to fifth avenue to load up on suites and silk ties. I assume he bought ties with fat tails? And more investment Banks will follow, any listed companies that main business is expensive silk ties?, I would like to go long (agianst short S&p 500).

And more investment Banks will followNPR talked about this a few days ago. The tailor they interviewed said biz. is booming, and apparently many companies are instituting this change in dress code. I believe it's a cosmetic move to counter the current biz. credibility issue.

QuoteOriginally posted by: PaulWhat are their rules on facial hair? The best story on facial hair that I've heard, is of a guy going along to an interview for a job in Hong Kong. At the interview, when informed "You do realise that at this establishment we do not allow our staff to have facial hair", the interviewee replied "WHAT!!! You mean I'll have to shave off my eyebrows?" He didn't get the job.

Pat, what size are you? Now that I eat long French lunches and wear a 42 suit I have lots of 38s and 39s that are beautiful (Barney's, B-squared, J-Squeeze and an occassional Paul Stuart). All for sale! I'll be in Manhattan next week (lloking for MP in my spare time )
