QuoteOriginally posted by: RinghioHas anybody played poker there? Is it a nice place?Well it depends on what you mean by nice ...The Gutshot is not a casino. It is a private member's club. However you can become a member instantly by turning up with some ID and a filled out membership form. There is no membership fee and you don't get any form of membership card and there's no checking of whether you're a member. But they need this nonsense for some legal reasons. They have cash games and tournaments. The medium/higher stakes games and tournaments have dealers but the small stakes ones are self-dealt. This means that responsibility for shuffling and dealing passes round the table. The conditions could not be said to be pleasant - especially when hot. Smoking is banned downstairs and in playing areas but it gets very hot and stuffy. It's certainly not for someone who likes playing in comfortable surroundings.Having said all that it's a very friendly setup. Bar/food and Internet cafe upstairs. Certainly a good chance to play some live poker in London. I could easily become a regular in the Saturday £100+10 freezeout NL tourney.
