Hi all, I was wondering if the Associate Program in UBS Wealth Management will offer opportunities for one to learn how to structure products and further one's career as a structurer?Appreciate any advice, thanks a lot in advance!

nope. wealth managers at ubs are guys who chase rich people. you WILL learn the last names of every prominent lawyer, doctor, and businessman in new york/london, and the fine art of sycophancy.

nope, UBS wealth mgmt = private b(w)anking. They have a large group called 'transaction products' which is basically sales into private banking, which includes structured products. eventhough some guys there might kid themselves into thinking they are some structuring geniuses, it's really only sales. If you want to go into private banking, it's probably one of the best places to be, if you want to go into structuring you'll have to go to an investment bank.

i'm ex-ubswarburg (now ubs investment banking) trading, so I know the structure pretty well. UBS has a great private bank, and anybody looking to go into that field it's a great address. They'll be making some pretty exiting changes to the way private banking business is done in the US region (ie much more european or swiss approach, apposed to the traditional US broker business).re financials, a private bank job is never as lucrative as trading. I know a couple ex-traders who've taken 'retirement' jobs in private banking, and they are making a quarter or less then they used to make.
