graviton is the information itself

November 4th, 2002, 12:07 am

You know me, I don't know too much about physics. But it has long been an opinion of mine that an object can't be adjacent to another object without affecting that object in some way. You know, like if you aren't constantly being accelerated in your sleep by nearby massive bodies, you get sick? So an object which is adjacent to something is constantly radiating information about itself. Now suppose two objects are adjacent across some measure of space. They are each retaining their own entropy content, at the same time as they are complementing it with a record of their adjacency. Their new state is a record of their old state, combined with what they are adjacent to. So, to conserve entropy as their information rises, the quantity of space between them must decline. In other words, an object is at all times radiating its own properties, and fueling this process by consuming space. Since space can't reflect the information without knotting into particles, it just keeps propagating the information until it changes the state of other matter, or until it dissipates into new space. Information which never makes it to new matter settles into space, in the space-space cycle.Space which is not smooth, or is kinked, can recognize information being propagated through it, to the extent it cannot dissipate the shock in an orderly way. After the encounter, either space will be subtracted and a particle will be released or, more likely, the wayward information will be absorbed and incorporated into new, smoother space. Either way, wayward adjacency tends to become space. In this manner, both adjacency and non-adjacency tend to self-perpetuate, and much information is lost out in the spreading blackness between galaxies. Or, of course, as objects are accelerated towards each other by gravity, space is translated into potential. But before we continue, please give me a rating from 1 to 10 on a nonsense scale. I think I'm going to give myself an 8.8 MP

"Congratulations! Your rating is PI! "So what exactly is the "Barrett-Crane spin foam model"? And will it work in my hot-tub?

Not so sure about this. Since when has there been a law of the conservation of entropy?

QuoteBut before we continue, please give me a rating from 1 to 10 on a nonsense scale. Instead of giving a rating let me suggest an alternate scale
