Which group in GSAM? They have a great quant group that runs hedge funds. They're supposed to be one of the largest hedge fund group in the US, and their return their returns have been outstanding. http://money.cnn.com/2005/09/01/markets ... /index.htm

How do all these groups relate to the Quantitative Strategies or Quantitative Resource Group which is mentioned on their website. Somehow only the google cache of this survives:-1d3QmCxnoJ:www.gs.com/careers/inside_goldman_sachs ... s%22&hl=en

My very limited and probably incorrect impression is that most quants at Goldman-Sachs are scattered throughout the organizations, but that QRG and QS are groups which are separate from both each other and the other groups at GS. In particular, I've heard people refer to QRG as a "fire brigade" and "where the super-quants live." Also, I've gotten the impression that the groups and roles in GS are a lot more flexible than in other places.Would be really interested in comparing notes with people via PM.
