Written tests at first round interviews

November 1st, 2006, 12:47 am

I will be taking the first round interviews of CSFB for quantitative positions (PhD). Before the face-to-face interviews, they give an hour long written test on basic quantitative skills. Does anyone know what sort of subjects we should expect? Basic probability? Brain teasers? Differential equations? Statistics? 45 times 37?Thanks.

Are you attending the SF regional day too? From what I know, it has 4 parts: Math, Finance, Brain Teasers and Computing. You can choose any 3 sections, which with 10 questions each. All the best.

I think the test is mandatory. the schedule for the day is such: breakfast, test, talk (and marking of test), lunch. After lunch, those who did well in the test will proceed with the 1st round face-to-face interview, and those who didn't, well, can have their lunch in peace (and frustration).I think I applied via email, as did my classmates. Actually, almost my entire class is invited for the event.

After the test, you can try to get into a discussion about the test with the proctor.(Addition: never mind. The format of the interview at CSFB seems to be very different from the bank that I'm thinking of.)
